Most Unix and Linux distributions are shipping easy installable packages of each release. For Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X, the following links provide easy installable packages of the help system, which should be preferred:

You can grab one of our recent releases from the GIMP FTP server at: ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/help/. Each release is a precompiled HTML version of the manual. If you need the full source code, download it using git documented on the Help us page.
